What Interns Wear to Work during COVID
Your summer internship is a daunting, stressful and high-pressure time. You’re trying to put your best foot forward and make the best impression so you can get that full-time offer. Whether you’re fetching coffee or shadowing someone in the office, every impression is important to prove that you’re valuable to be employed there. It’s a little different this summer during the COVID pandemic because now you’re figuring out how to do this all via Zoom.
While those who are seasoned employees may be more comfortable wearing sweats to Zoom, interns still feel a little pressure to present themselves a step above. Today we’re giving advice about what to wear on Zoom based on what real interns are wearing to put their best foot forward while highlighting other great female-founded brands.
Your appearance starts at your skin. If you can, take this time during COVID and do those 5-step night routines you’ve always wanted to try. Treat yourself to masks Sunday night and start your week off on the right foot. We’re a big fan of Summer Fridays to get that instant glow so you look like you just got a facial.
2) Hair accessories
While many of us still can’t get haircuts, we suggest headbands of various prints, colors and styles to pull back your mane and still look polished. Some of our faves includes Swirly Curly Hair; wear it with a white tee, leggings and no one will be able to tell that you just rolled out of bed.
3) Nice Tees
While t-shirts may seem casual, invest in a nice tee without wrinkled collars and the mystery stain. A clean crisp white tee is today’s equivalent of the crisp collared button-down. You’ll instantly feel put-together yet super comfortable. Look for some tees such as Everybody.World who creates t-shirts from 100% recycled fabrics.
Sundresses are an easy one-piece item to feel put-together and comfortable without wearing pants. Pick fun bright colors in different prints & textures. Best part is that you can go from your office to your backyard picnic in seconds. Matter places an emphasis on rural artisan production with unique prints and textiles to keep people focused on you and not your unmade bed.
Even though we’re not in a cold office, your home may be pretty chilly too. Grab a light cardigan such as these luxurious cashmere ones from Frances Austen and instantly shape up any outfit for your next Zoom presentation.
